Camping At Sheep Creek Near Flaming Gorge

Monday, July 20th we headed up to Vernal Utah for a family reunion with Jeff's dad's side of the family...From Safford, it is about a 15 hour trip. The plan was to go camping with Jeff's dad and step~mom for s few days before the reunion later in the week.

We arrived in Vernal late Monday night and some time on Tuesday we headed up the mountain for some camping. We got camp all set up and ready for a couple days of fun including fishing, hiking, and roasting marshmallows...

The kids all got along and played nicely in the great outdoors. We had pretty primitive setting which accounts for the shameless picture of Bronson relieving himself.

Bronson and Madelyn both really liked the fishing and I think they both caught some fish. Kaitlyn liked walking around taking it all in, but not so much the fishing. No. We did not eat any fish that were caught. They had a release law if it wasn't a certain size. Whew!

We saw a lot of wildlife. Here's a moose with a baby moose behind her (you can see a head to the right behind her). We also saw deer and elk and some osprey flying in to catch a fish out of a lake. There was a nice drive to a geological scenic place with some pretty beautiful landscape scenes.

And we drove up to some great spots to see the Flaming Gorge Lake which spans about 90 miles. Here we are posing at this overlook. Please forgive the complete unkemptness of our appearance. This was at the end of our camping trip.
I was able to finish one book and start another while the rest of the family mostly fished. I am so happy to have recently taken such an interest in reading b/c it saved me from three days of completely going crazy up in the mountains. Yay for books!
BTW I read Nicholas Sparks' "The Notebook" and started his "The Wedding" which I finished on the drive home. He has a new fan!
